Hello and welcome to our Website. The Erne Vintage Car Club
was formed in 1979 by a group of enthusiasts who as well as
enjoying their own cars and their fellow Club members vehicles
also made sure there was time for the social side of things.
37 years later we like to think things haven’t really changed.
Sadly names and faces have changed but I am glad to say
some of our founder members are still very active in the EVCC.
This year The Laying Up Run is heading Cookstown Direction, we leave Hollyhill car park at 11.30 hrs, our first stop is for a light lunch in the Village Inn Killyclogher just outside Omagh.
After lunch we head to Lissan House approx 19 miles away, after Lissan House we Travel through Cookstown, Castlecaulfield, and finish in Fivemiletown for our evening meal in the Valley Hotel.
Lissan House is an enchanting country residence set within a 260 acre demesne of ancient woodland and forestry.
The estate was created in the 17th century and remained the home of the Staples family for nearly 400 years. Lissan came to prominence in 2003 when its popularity helped it reach the final of the BBC Restoration programme.
Following extensive redevelopment, the house opened its doors in spring 2012 to reveal modern interactive exhibits and original family furnishings which take you on a unique journey through the history of the estate and the family characters that have shaped it. Children will be kept entertained in the house with the teddy bear treasure hunt. The demesne also features a challenging adventure playground for children, a wooded picnic area, walled garden and secluded walks to explore, with points of interest including the Lissan River, Ice House and Turbine House.
Lunch, House Tour and evening meal are all optional, but we hope you will join us on the last club event of 2017 and finish the year off in style.
